MAR NIORAH

aka Omar Ali, Omar Marosh, Omar Ali Ibrahim. I like to look under the hood of everything. Mechanical, electronic, software, biological and our new AI species of friends. I look inside, I try to understand how they work, and sometimes for fun, I make things to play with from my learnings. I also dabble in music, art, and writing. I am strongly opinionated about almost everything. But I also change my mind when presented with logically good arguments.

  1. Working Draft of the thought I had.

This started when I was watching a video about the Juno and Galileo missions and a thought occurred in my simple human brain: “I have an intuition to disprove that we (humans) live in a simulation. The way it could work is to posit a series of experimental setups for actual simulations of any complex computations as possible where these environments will always return true.. But that a reality world we have come to understand (the universe) would return false on.”

This was the seeded thought. What exactly about the video of Juno and Galileo made me think of that ? I don’t really remember / know. Maybe seeing the simulations of gravitational forces of Jupiter or the Io Moon and Jupiter’s couplings made me re-think of simulation theory in general. Or maybe I had a good night’s sleep ? I don’t know. Either way, now that I have a solid solution for my ADHD brain (in the name of the all mighty and powerful LLM :P), I’ve come up with a working draft. (attached below)

  2. Can we prove that we do not live in a Simulation ? And this is a bounded question. I am not saying, we will prove that we are not in a ‘dream world’ and by waking up, we ‘snap out’ of this dream world. No. What I am interested in, is this universe we currently observe a simulated (computationally simulated) universe. Because simulation has a very specific meaning, and gets conflated with all kinds of ‘imaginary’ ideas of what a ‘simulation’ is. If we can prove this, then at least, a huge chunk of the anxiety inducing sci-fi becomes irrelevant; and on top of that list, the Matrix :D

  3. My latest 3 blog posts all started cuz of this comment. 😂
