A comment about my latest blog on Jung: Abstraction isn’t the enemy. Science runs on abstractions. Genes, species, markets, memory, intelligence—none of these are tiny physical objects you can pull out and put on a table. The question isn’t whether an abstraction is “real.” The question is what work it does. Does it compress observations? Generate predictions? Connect to measurable mechanisms? Survive attempts to prove it wrong? A good abstraction earns its existence.
Working on Still Here, it’s coming along well - adding more features, getting Mochi (the animatronic helper) to be more useful - baking in a cognitive test in the chat with Mochi itself so he/she can check in on me and test my reaction times, cognitive abilities and make judgments for me.
I had to plug my brand new lexar 2 TB disk into a low-life windows pc. I felt so dirty! ewwww
One of the coolest realizations I have had (Besides all the magical coding that the LLMs are able to do), is that .. I can speak in all the languages I know, mix and match, and it’ll be able to keep up! It talks in all the languages too.
